Why Choose UKCBC’s BSc (Hons) in Health and Social Care Management (Top-up)?
Through collaboration with Bath Spa University, we have created a degree level course that allows students with a level 5 qualification (in a relevant subject) to gain a full bachelor’s degree with just one extra year of study. The programme is designed to prepare you for the more complex elements of healthcare you are likely to encounter when working in a public and private healthcare context; the National Health Service and the Department for Health and Social Care policies underpin the qualification, which aims to produce graduates that are committed to actively promoting the rights and choices of service users.
During the course, you will develop an in-depth understanding of the contemporary health and social care sector and the major issues facing professionals in the industry. You will also complete a dissertation on a subject of your choosing, which can be used in job applications to support the professional specialisation you gain from selecting the various optional modules. You’ll also have the chance to consider the role of health education and how departments like the Department for Health and Social Care alter behaviours in the population; the Community Engagement module will give you the chance to assess public conceptions of healthcare – an ideal choice for those interested in finding work in the legislative side of the sector.
The Top-up Degree in Health and Social Care Management will build on many of the skills and theories students will have learnt during their HND. It will also support the development of applying academic theories to real-world events, leading to credible solutions and recommendations. UKCBC and Bath Spa University highlight the importance placed on thinking independently and confidently when students face the academic challenges of the top-up degree.
