We’re proud to announce that we will once again be attending the ULAS Explore Summer Conference on Wednesday, 27th June 2018. The event, open to 16, 17 and 18-year-olds, will welcome secondary students from around the UK and offer them the chance to assess their options after finishing their A-level (or equivalent). The free event will be held in Notting Hill in west London.
Attendees will have the opportunity to speak to employers, universities and higher education providers as well as take part in workshops held by industry professionals. Previous exhibitors include multi-national companies like pharmaceutical giant GlaxoSmithKline, finance and accountancy advisory firm BDO and risk management firm EY; other attendees included higher education providers such as the University of St. Andrews, London Metropolitan University and Imperial College London.
Regarding the events, UKCBC Course Advisor Suleman Patel said:
“ULAS is a great opportunity for students to assess some of the options open to them after leaving secondary education. As well as speaking to universities, attendees also get to see the routes higher education providers like UKCBC offer, such as gaining higher national diplomas and top-up degrees (sometimes for significantly less than a regular three-year bachelor’s degree).
“There’s also the chance for students to talk to companies about their internship programmes. This is particularly useful for those who have a fixed idea of the profession they want to work in. Likewise, those who want to earn while studying can also speak with employers at the event to find out how many apprenticeship positions are available and the type of qualification they can expect to gain by the end of the apprenticeship.
“All in all, it’s a great event to gain some perspective on those important next steps.”
Places are limited for the event; get your ticket now to guarantee your place. You will not be able to attend a workshop if you haven’t registered beforehand.
