Course Entry Requirements
Potential students of the Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Health and Social Care are required to meet certain criteria in order to join the course. The following entry requirements need to be fulfilled to study this course at the UK College of Business and Computing:
- Recognised NQF/QCF Level 3 qualification or overseas equivalent qualification (UKNARIC will be used to assess the equivalency of international qualifications) preferably in the Health and Social Care sector or other related studies (or);
- GCE Advanced level profile demonstrating strong performance in a relevant subject (or);
- Mature learners without formal qualifications, or the qualifications below NQF/QCF level 3 are required to present a more varied profile of achievement in the form of work experience in the related field and will be subject to relevant entry level examination and interview.
Native students need to establish their English language skills by the following:
- Level 2 in functional skills / GCSEs in English
Students who are non-native English speakers or who have not studied the final two years of school in English, can demonstrate capability in English at a standard commensurate to:
- IELTS 5.5, with a minimum of 5.0 being awarded on individual sections for a level 4 or 5 qualification (or)
- Appear for an assessment test conducted by the college that proves the English language to establish their competency at CEFR B2 level.
The Pearson BTEC Level 5 HND in Health and Social Care requires two years of study (first year is the Level 4 HNC) with the UK College of Business and Computing (UKCBC). Throughout the course, you will be required to complete 16 core and specialised modules (eight in each year) amounting to a total of 240 credits.
